“I am more intrigued by Alice’s alter-ego, bad Alice. It is that ‘bad’ look, in both color and shape, that I have envisioned on my model.” -- Janine Jarman

Janine Jarman's Shoulder Tattoo
Hello folks! It’s been a crazy last few weeks! We at Hairroin Salon have received over 50 emails in the last few weeks about the tattoo on Janine Jarman's shoulder.
Asking to see better pics, what/who inspired it, and who it was done by. We finally had some time to snap off a few close ups and thought I would post them for you all to see. Let her know on
Janine Jarman's Facebook page if you have any questions that you want her to answer as well!
Photos courtesy of Steven Barston. To see more of Steven's work, please go to: Steven Barston Photography
1. When did you get the tattoo on your shoulder? About two years ago.
2. What exactly is it? It’s a collective of ideas that was mainly inspired by my Grandmother (the heart doilies ), and one of my favorite artists : Kukula
3. How long did it take to get finished? I actually went in twice, once for the black and white which took about three hours, then again another time for the rest of the color. The color took about another two and a half hours.
4. Where did you get it done and by whom? Neil from Classic Tattoo Studio. His shop is in Upland California. While there are tons of amazing artists here in LA, this guy is beyond amazing. Their address is 1710 W. Foothill Blvd. Suite F1 Upland, CA 91786 and the phone number is 909-949-7971. If you have the time to go sit down with Neil, then you are in luck. He is a genius, and one of the nicest people ever. His myspace is click here for Classic Tattoo Studio .
5. Do you have any other tattoos? Haha, too many to tell. I have a huge corset lace tattoo covering most of my back, as well as a bunch of little tattoos.
6. Can we see the corset tattoo? Sure.

Congratulations to Janine Jarman for winning Bravo TV's "Shear Genius 3"' Fan Favorite
Our fearless leader here at Hairroin Salon , the tattooed Janine Jarman (runner up in Shear Genius 3) was annouced by Liam Neeson as the winner of $10,000 for Bravo TV's Fan Favorite!!!!
From Bravo's Website:
"So, Brig may have won the big prize, but Janine didn't go home empty-handed. See, you guys like her, you really like her, and voted her Fan Favorite, winning her a whopping $10K! Liam Neeson himself made the big announcement on Watch What Happens Live last night, and we asked Janine for a response:
I am so pumped to have won Fan Favorite! I cannot express my gratitude for everyone who supported me and my work on the show. Fan Favorite is the real contest with no politics. You are actually judged by your peers and fans of the show, not just a judging panel of four people. I had a total blast on the show, and just can't wait to see what the future holds. You haven't seen the last of me!
Mazel, Janine! Watch the big announcement:"

Beatrice De Jong Nominated as a Finalist in Sebastian Professional's "What's Next Awards!"
Blog written by Hairroin Salon Senior Stylist - Beatrice
I was just nominated as a finalist in Sebastian's What's next awards! Take a look at the contest finalists here: http://www.whatsnextawards.com/
The contest was for volumized hair looks, I styled a loose curly hair and used Haute Hollywood Lock Hair Extensions to give the model thick luxurious curls that still look natural. The winner of the What’s Next Awards will get to work backstage styling hair at New York Fashion Week! I've got my fingers crossed!

Modernsalon.com "Fantasy Land" a Step by Step Alice in Wonderland Look
Check out Modernsalon.com to see the before, finish and in between at this link:
Taken from Modern Salon Magazine's Website:
"Janine Jarman, Sebastian spokesperson, owner of Hairroin salon and Shear Genius 3 contestant, created this Alice in Wonderland-inspired look for MODERN. For color on her model, Jarman utilized her ‘Color Melt’ technique, “which is a melting technique I use to transition from dark to light,” she says. “This technique easily imitates a ‘surfer blonde look’ and is achieved without foils.” Jarman uses this technique on 30 percent of her clients, and while she is going a bit more dramatic for this look, she normally stays within three levels on most clients. "
