Hairroin Valentine's Day Pin Up Photo Shoot Update
I was forwarded a great blog the other day called Zippercut.Wordpress.com. The blog entry that was forwarded was a recap of a client's experience with Hairroin's Valentine's Day Pin-Up photoshoot. I was very surprised at the post, as I didn't remember or catch the client snapping off all these pictures! The photo shoot was held at Space626 at the Brewery Lofts Downtown.
Looks like she had fun! Thanks Zippercut! We love you!
Zippercut is also an AWESOME blog for fashion as well. Everyone should check out the site. They also have a flickr site as well, which you can view by Clicking Here.

Pixie Press Company Launch Party and About Face Book Release on Rooftop of The London West Hotel
Photo Jenny Todd for Pixie Press
Taken from Pixie Press Worldwide press release.
February 17, 2010 -- Pixie Press Worldwide, the Beverly Hills, CA–based boutique publishing house, celebrated its company launch with a star-studded rooftop party at The London West Hollywood. The evening marked the debut of its first coffee table book, ABOUT FACE, shot by celebrity photographer John Russo. Many of the male subjects from the book joined the festivities.

Jason Lewis (Sex and the City), Gilles Marini (Brothers & Sisters), Jesse Williams(Grey’s Anatomy), Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives), Justin Chon (Twilight, New Moon), Daren Kagasoff (The Secret Life of The American Teenager), and several others showed their support for the publisher and their charitable partner, Smile Train, an organization providing free cleft and lip palate surgeries to children around the world.
With unobstructed views of L.A., the party was produced by accomplished designer Alex Alexander of Alex Events Inc., who created a sophisticated backdrop with Swarovski crystal chandeliers, satin ivory draping with hues of aura-like purple lighting, and contemporary lounges with custom accent throws and pillows. Guests were treated to specialty cocktails and hors d’oeuvres by chef Gordon Ramsay and tunes by KCRW DJ Mathieu Schreyer throughout the night. Upon departing, patrons received a branded soy candle with a custom scent crafted specifically for Pixie Press by Duett candles. FLIP™ Video provided cameras for capturing commentary about the party’s trendsetters by reality contestant Janine Jarman of Bravo’s Shear Genius.

Rest in Peace Alexander McQueen, You Have Been a Huge Inspiration
Harrison/Getty
We are sorry to report as most of you probably know already, but British fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead at his London home on Thursday, he was 40 years old.
He was such a HUGE Inspiration for our entire staff here at Hairroin and millions of others around the world.
Taken from Dailymail.co.uk:
"The 40-year-old McQueen, the son of a taxi driver who wound up making suits for Prince Charles and gowns for Oscar-winner Kate Winslet, committed suicide, according to the London Daily Mail. An ambulance called to a London address at about 10:40 a.m. found McQueen already dead, police said.
The designer was reportedly despondent over the death of his mother last week."
He as a fashion Icon, and a great all around guy and we are all very sad to see him leave this earth so early.
Recap of Shear Genius 3 Episode 2
Giacomo goes home…
For last night’s episode we needed to create a hairstyle inspired by one of Jason Johnston of the Dakota Restaurant (inside the Roosevelt Hotel) new menu dishes. From winning the challenge last week, I had immunity from elimination. That gave me the freedom to do something that I have never done before without any fear of the judges not liking it. I thought the challenge was an odd one, and when I saw my dish I was less than excited, but went for it anyway. I was VERY impressed with Matthew’s hairstyle. The dishes were as follows:
Brian: Chocolate mousse
April: Heirloom tomato salad
Jon: Seared scallops
Brig: Tiramisu
Amy: Dakota Burger
Janine: Beet salad
Adee: Steak tartare
Matthew: Yellowtail Hamachi
Arzo: Tuna Tataki
Faatemah: Orange Flan Trio
As said on Realitywanted.com “Janine has immunity in the challenge and decides to take a bigger risk because of it. Some of the stylists decide to go more glamorous while others go Avant Garde, and still others go more literal.”
They pretty much barely showed the hair I did, and I didn’t get to see much feedback, but I guess it doesn’t matter. I liked it.
The outcome of the two challenges were:
Shortcut Challenge #2
Top three Janine, Jon and Matthew!
Bottom three are Brian, Adee, and April.
Winner? Matthew!!! Congrats Matthew!!!!
Elimination Challenge #2
Top Three are Brian, Jon, and Matthew (I had immunity!!! Yay!)
Bottom three are Brig, Arzo, and Amy
Who is eliminated? ARZO??????????????????????? Hhhmmm Everyone seemed a little confused about this deciscion.
