Rest in Peace Alexander McQueen, You Have Been a Huge Inspiration
Harrison/Getty
We are sorry to report as most of you probably know already, but British fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead at his London home on Thursday, he was 40 years old.
He was such a HUGE Inspiration for our entire staff here at Hairroin and millions of others around the world.
Taken from Dailymail.co.uk:
"The 40-year-old McQueen, the son of a taxi driver who wound up making suits for Prince Charles and gowns for Oscar-winner Kate Winslet, committed suicide, according to the London Daily Mail. An ambulance called to a London address at about 10:40 a.m. found McQueen already dead, police said.
The designer was reportedly despondent over the death of his mother last week."
He as a fashion Icon, and a great all around guy and we are all very sad to see him leave this earth so early.

You must see this show downtown LA!
Tickets range from $25-$80, but really any seat under this big top has a great view. Simon and I took our dates to this wonderment. It was incredible! Our group kept on saying how we all want to go again before it leaves. There is a smaller seperate tent for pre-show, intermission, and after show party that has a full service bar with popcorn, old fashion carnival games and an old tyme jazz band that plays music that'll put you right on the Devil's Dancefloor. (while you mingle with the circus performers)This circus is directed towards the adult mentality being very sensual, playfull, dark, humorous and beautiful.
They also let you take your drinks into the big top. The show runs through July 26th,(Thursday-Sundays) so you gotta hurry!
www.cirqueberzerk.com
866-55-tickets
P.S.
"Themed Attire" is suggested on their website, so get all gussied up and hopefully I will see you there!

What inspires you?
blog written by Doug (junior stylist at Hairroin Salon)
I am amazed as to where one can find inspiration when they take a moment to look at the details that life in this world unfurls for us.
At times I get so busy and focused on my daily projects, chores and tasks that I forget to look outside of my "work" and life seems dull or even suffocating. By the time I finally realize my predicament I am burnt out and need a recharge of sorts to change direction and get things going again.
This is where inspiration comes in:)
Inspiration can lead us to many things and help us accomplish what we need to achieve. Sometimes it comes seemingly out of nowhere, other times we actively seek it to help us along. For me on this evening while driving home from Vegas, it's the night sky and great music that caught me by surprise. This is what I needed to unwind and to get back to "myself" and feeling grounded again.
Inspiration comes in many forms, be it music, nature, symbols of freedom, other people, movies, etc. It can lead to change whether it be politics or a new haircut or colour, but it doesn't have to lead to change, as is the case for me tonight. I know that life is full of things so cool, beautiful and wicked (in a good sense), the thing is, we must look.

inspiration found.
blog written by Simon (senior stylist at Hairroin Salon)
I get a lot of inspiration from just walking down the street.
I'm not talking about the countless perfect highlights and precision long layers you so frequently see, but the "do it yourself" cuts and styles you see walking so nonchalantly by. Someone who maybe came home after a few too many glasses of wine and looked into the mirror, got a great idea, and grabbed the nearest cuticle scissors or kitchen shears and threw caution into the wind. Or the kid who has a friend that has aspirations of becoming a world class stylist and is plopped down in front of a mirror by the friend who has clippers in one hand and a comb in the other.
Not that these are ways to have a great haircut. Quite the contrary. But it seems that in the absence of structure, an eye for balance, or a knowledge of the basics of hair cutting/coloring/styling, all rules are broken, and pleasant accidents are reached.
Seeing risks taken that I would not normally take because, who wants to pay to have an experiment done on their head, is extremely inspiring and sometimes just what one needs to leave the very comfortable world of one length cuts and perfect square layers.
Keeping your eye open to the "bad", often allows you to see the truly "good"...
